Expansion of North American Marine Aquaculture Jeopardized by Salmon Escape

The U.S. soybean sector has placed a high priority on promoting the use of soymeal and soy protein in aquaculture feeds in the U.S. and around the world. Most of the effort has been in Asia and Latin America where the aquaculture sector is the largest and governments are very supportive of expanding aquaculture production. Governments in this region view aquaculture as a way of producing seafood for their populations and export.
