Insane Consumption Growth

World crop production slipped in 2018 from the record levels reached in the previous five years, which masked the fact that world consumption also set records in each of those same years. World soybean production was a record again in 2018, but world production of corn and wheat fell as did that of barley, another important crop. An individual from the wheat flour milling industry was casually looking at the world wheat consumption numbers during a recent meeting, and he was stunned to see that it has risen 100 MMT in just the past ten years.
