Regional News The EU and Mercosur trade blocs finally signed a free trade agreement that had been delayed and debated for 25 years or so. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen heralded the agreement in a press conference in Montevideo and cited the need for more free trade in the face of increasing protectionism. Nigeria has emerged as the top importer of EU wheat this marketing year with 1.614 MMT purchased so far, up 16 percent year-over-year. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
