Market Commentary

Markets were lower overnight following yesterday’s declines, and they slipped a bit more after the weekly export sales report was released 15 minutes before that session closed. Corn and soybean exports sales were much lower than expected, but wheat sales were at the high end of the expected range. Funds selling across the board did not subside as the day wore on. Weather across the U.S. has turned very good for making progress on the corn and soybean harvests. There has been chatter around the market about the possibility USDA will reduce those yield estimates in its November revisions due to the previous wet conditions, but that report is still a month away.
