Political Landscape Taking Shape

After the 2024 elections, the Republicans look to have taken control of Congress, along with a Trump victory, providing a Republican triple sweep. The Senate GOP majority is 53 to 47; and the House GOP majority is still TBD. However, as of today, the Republicans have secured 215 seats, and Democrats have secured 206 seats in the House of Representatives.  A majority is 218 seats. The projected final totals based on this count are now 219 Republicans (enough for a majority - barely) and 209 Democrats, with seven seats still uncalled, including five Democrat incumbents and two Republican incumbents; there not enough Republican seats to swing Democrats into the majority.11122024dj.png 26.1 KBThe incoming Trump Administration, supported by...

Communicating importance of value-added products

Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
