RVO Countdown

Friday of this week could be EPA’s release date for the final rule on the 2020 required volume obligations (RVO). That rule would include the small refinery offset language proposed by EPA in October. The rule was sent from EPA to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on 6 December; OMB is giving the regulation a final review.   The agency is taking meetings with outside groups through Thursday, which means it would not be released before Friday. Meetings are scheduled at OMB with the National Association of Truck Stop Owners on the 18th and on the 19th with Growth Energy. Weighing in on strategic realignment

WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
