Proposition 12: The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) has advocated for a fix to Proposition 12, the California animal welfare law, in the Senate farm bill. The House version of the farm bill included a fix, but the Senate bill, based on the discussion draft released by Chairman John Boozman (R-Arkansas), does not. According to NPPC, without Proposition 12 relief in the final farm bill, pork producers face a patchwork of state animal housing laws that hurts small farmers the hardest, limits veterinarians’ choices, increases the cost of food, and undermines states’ rights. Weighing in on strategic realignment
WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company.
