Targeting Big Ag; Milking the Cow

Targeting Big Ag Today signaled the end to a 60-day public comment period on the Biden Administration’s proposed regulatory guidance on antitrust issues. No doubt there were many negative comments, but its impact could still be huge on American agribusiness. In a simplistic “big is inherently bad” mindset, the White House is seeking to bend federal law closer to its philosophical mindset. It has lost badly in the courts using the decades old statutory formula, including being told by a court that it “ignore[d] commercial realities” in opposing the U.S. Sugar purchase of Imperial Sugar. Infrastructure investment due diligence

On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment. WPI has conducted parallel work on behalf of U.S., South American and European clients, both private and public, in the agri-food space.
